Ed Ervasti

Ed Ervasti was a distinguished amateur in several states including Michigan, Missouri, Utah as well as in Canada.

In 1947, he won the Michigan Publinx and the Michigan Amateur. He was also runner-up in the Michigan Amateur in ’53 & ’54.

Ervasti qualified for a number of national championships including three U.S. Opens. On two occasions he was low amateur in the PGA Tour’s Western Open.

After he moved to Ontario, Ervasti won the 1976 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship and later three Ontario Senior Amateur titles.

He also was the North and South Senior Amateur champion at Pinehurst in 1978. When he was 65 years of age, Ervasti shot 63. Subsequently he would shoot or better his age more than 3,000 times.

He was inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame in 2002 and lived to age 101.
