John Morse

John Morse of Marshall has won at all levels of golf in Michigan and in the professional ranks, too.

He won the Michigan Amateur 1978 and the Big Ten Conference Tournament while a member of the University of Michigan golf team. He was also named All-American while playing for the Wolverines.

He turned professional in 1982 and played the Australasian Tour where he won twice – the Australian Open in 1990 and the Air New Zealand/Shell Open in 1991.

He played the European Tour in 1991 and ’92 and the Nike Tour in 1993 where he won the New England Classic.

Playing on the PGA Tour for five years starting in 1994 he won the Hawaiian Open in 1995 and had numerous top-10 finishes including a fourth at the U.S. Open in 1996 at Oakland Hills Country Club.

He continued to play on the PGA Nationwide Tour in his 40s to keep sharp for entry to the PGA Champions Tour in 2008. He played on the senior circuit for several years.
