Mark Wilson

First as a dedicated and longtime head golf professional and now a respected Professional Golf Management Program staff member at Ferris State University, Wilson has achieved national prominence through his knowledge and work regarding the Rules of Golf.

Among his accomplishments are: Chairman of the PGA of America Rules Committee, and Chairman, Michigan Section PGA Rules Committee; Multiple winner of the Michigan Section PGA Horton Smith Award. He has served as a Rules Official at 24 PGA Championships, 19 Masters Tournaments, 7 British Opens, 4 United States Opens and 8 Ryder Cup Matches.

Wilson has been involved in Rules education as well. He served as a consulting member of the United States Golf Association’s Rules of Golf Committee from 2005 to 2010. In this capacity, he contributed proposed language for new and revised Rules of Golf and Decisions on the Rules of Golf. He has been an instructor at 36 National PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops.

The PGA of America honored Wilson in 2008 as the recipient of the National Horton Smith Award for contributions to the PGA Education Program. In 2011 he became one of twelve original inductees to the Michigan PGA Hall of Fame.
