Along with portraits and plaques of its members, the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame has an impressive collection of donated clubs, artifacts and memorabilia.
The collection includes notable items like: Walter Hagen’s driver used to hit balls from his deck at Long Lake into the lake; Chuck Kocsis’s mallet putter he used while winning the 1930 Michigan Amateur, the first of his record six wins; John Traub’s 1-iron that was instrumental in his 1980 PGA Professional National Championship win; Meg Mallon’s autographed team bag from a triumphant American Solheim Cup victory; Jeff Roth’s autographed bag from the 1996 PGA Cup experience; and former Oakland Hills superintendent Ted Woehrle’s stimpmeter.
Many of these items rotate through the displays revealing the Michigan golf story at Ferris State University’s Ken Janke Golf Learning Center, home of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame.
