Greg Johnson’s name is synonymous with respected golf writer in Michigan. Working for almost 30 years with the Grand Rapids Press and later as a media consultant for the state’s most prominent golf associations, Johnson authored stories about all aspects of the game. As a sports journalist, he was a constant presence at Michigan’s biggest golf tournaments, including its major Tour stops, while never forgetting the local golf beat. Readers also enjoyed his award-winning columns and coverage of Michigan’s professional and college teams. Transitioning to a career in media relations, Johnson directed his editorial/photography skills, knowledge and experience to reporting about the tournaments and news of Michigan’s leading golf organizations, courses and people. A longtime committee member of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame, Johnson was instrumental in establishing its new home at Ferris State University and providing dedicated leadership as its chairperson.
