Mike Hill

Mike Hill grew up on a dairy farm next to a golf course in Jackson and got his start as a caddie at Country Club of Jackson.

He turned professional in 1967 and joined the PGA Tour in 1968. Two years later he took his first of three victories on the PGA Tour, the Doral Eastern Open. Hill added the San Antonio Open in 1972 and then the Ohio Kings Island Open in 1977.

As well as he did on the regular tour, Hill really hit high gear on the PGA Champions Tour which he joined in 1989. Hill won 18 times with five victories in both 1990 and 1991. Mike didn’t slow down when he reached the Super Senior age of 60, winning 15 Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions events. Hill also won five team events including four Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with Lee Trevino. Hill notched nearly $9 million in Tour career earnings.

He is the brother of PGA Tour player Dave Hill, who is also in the Hall of Fame. Mike Hill is also a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame.
